YIN YOGA
Sunday, May 29, 2022
11:00 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.
  Fee:  $30.00/class              Instructor:  Christine Lovejoy

Yin Yoga is a simple yet potent practice which helps to bring balance into our hectic and full lives.  It nourishes the joints and connective tissues; it supports health for our organs; and creates more flexibility in the body.  This deep and mindful style of yoga will inform your current practice.  Yin Yoga  is for the beginning as well as the seasoned student.

Christine will gently guide you to meet your "edge" and draw your gaze toward inner attention. Through this practice you will re-member your innate wisdom.  All that is required to participate is your curiosity and willingness to practice presence.

Please allow time to enjoy homemade treats after class.  I relish preparing gluten-free and refined sugar-free treats for my Yinsters.  And, you must not miss our tea master's perfectly steeped tea!

Husband and wife, Rob and Melissa, are kirtan artists, yoga teachers and storytellers. Melissa’s angelic voice is the perfect compliment to Rob’s more earthy, singer-songwriter vocals, and together they create an accessible environment that invites both the uninitiated and the more experienced kirtan participants to feel welcome.

What's kirtan? Click here if you're unfamiliar with kirtan

Here's what studio owners and yoga teachers are saying about Rob and Melissa:

"Rob and Melissa bring the beauty and the bhav."

-Daniel Stewart, kirtan artist/co-owner Rising Lotus Yoga

"Rob and Melissa light up the room with their soulful voices and their passion for Sanskrit chants and inspirational lyrics. Together they capture the audience with their joy-filled performances and their sweet glances at each other. If kirtan is indeed a path to the Divine, then Rob & Melissa will
pave the way."

-Jeni Martinez, Owner/Three Trees Yoga

"I love me some Rob and Melissa kirtan! They create an incredibly warm and inviting atmosphere where people can let their voices shine. Their harmonies together along with Rob's amazing guitar playing soothe the soul and bring much joy."

-MJ Daniels, Teacher/8 Limbs Yoga

"Whenever I think of working with Rob and Melissa, I smile. They are truly Bhakti Yogis leading with heart and soul. Their gift of kirtan will change you. You will smile more too."

-Jenniferlyn (JL) Chiemingo, Dir. of Yoga/hauteyoga Queen Anne

"Rob and Melissa...bitchin' kirtan!"

-Amber Tande, Owner/Sutra Yoga

Rob is a singer/songwriter with a message of joy and celebration who began sharing his music with the yoga community after a teacher heard one of his songs, "Breathe", bought a CD and began playing it in her yoga classes.  Then the same teacher asked him to lead a kirtan at her studio, and he and Melissa have been chanting ever since. Besides singing kirtan with Melissa, Rob continues to write, record and perform as a solo artist.  Learn more

Although Melissa has been singing her entire life, it was through Rob's encouragement that she began sharing her sweet, lyrical voice with others. Through the discovery of kirtan and bhakti yoga she found deeper access to her authentic voice. Melissa began her practice of yoga over 15 years ago, and has been teaching since 2012. Whether leading kirtan or a yoga practice, Melissa provides a safe space to honor the humility of curiosity and welcomes the thrill of discovery in the potential of each individual's expression.

In addition to leading kirtans, Rob and Melissa also teach workshops and live music yoga classes.
